In Loving Memory of Yolanda Desarden Velez

October 19, 1967 – August 16, 2026

Yolanda Desarden Velez, beloved wife, mother, sister, grandmother, aunt, and friend, passed away peacefully on August 16, 2026, at the age of 58.

Yolanda was born on October 19, 1967, in Passaic, New Jersey. In the early 2000s, she made Florida her home, where she built a beautiful life surrounded by family, faith, love, and countless cherished memories.

For over 30 years, Yolanda shared her life with her beloved husband, Angel Velez. Their life together was a testament to love, commitment, and family. She was a devoted mother to her daughter, Arianna (James) Shin, and a loving stepmother to Angela Velez and Mark (Brianna) Velez.

In addition to her husband and children, Yolanda leaves behind four grandchildren, whom she loved dearly. She is also survived by her sisters, Janice Desarden and Miletsy Desarden; her brothers, Hector and Fernando Amaro; her father, Rafael Desarden, and stepmother, Iane Trabal; as well as a host of nieces, nephews, grandnieces, grandnephews, cousins, and dear friends who will forever carry her memory in their hearts.

Yolanda was preceded in death by her beloved mother, Maria I. Perez and her brother, Angel Tolentino.

Yolanda’s faith was a guiding light throughout her life, and those who knew her knew how deeply she believed in God and the promise of eternal life. While her passing leaves an unimaginable emptiness for those who love her, there is comfort in knowing that she has now gone home to her spiritual home and is no longer in pain, where she can rest peacefully in the presence of God.

Family was at the heart of who Yolanda was. She loved bringing people together and creating moments that would become treasured memories. Whether gathered around a table, celebrating a special occasion, sharing laughter, or simply enjoying time together, Yolanda had a gift for making people feel loved, welcomed, and part of the family. Her presence brought warmth and joy wherever she went.

Yolanda's life was defined by faith, family, love, and the memories she created with those around her. Though her absence leaves an immeasurable void, the love she gave and the memories she created will continue to live on through her children, grandchildren, family, and friends.

May she rest peacefully in her eternal home, surrounded by God's love, reunited with those she missed, and watching over all those she loved so dearly.
