Winnie Louie
Kier
March 14, 1960 — December 27, 2020
Winnie Louie Kier, age 60, of Tampa, FL died in the company of her husband at home on December 27, 2020. She was born in Hong Kong. Winnie came to the USA as a young child and lived in Sarasota, FL before moving to San Francisco, CA and finally returning to Florida where she received her Bachelor Degree from UF and later her Master degree from USF while owning and operating a restaurant.
Winnie will be deeply missed by her loving husband Lars C. Kier, her mother Ngan Louie, her older sister Becky Yang, Brother Albert Louie, her sisters-in-law in Denmark, Marianne and Annette Kier, her friends and loved ones. She was a beacon of light in the world to those she met.
Winnie had a prestigious career at Nestle's Water from 1993-2020. While holding the position of Director of Quality she was awarded the Nestle's Waters President's Award and later made a recipient of Nestle's Lifetime Achievement Award. Winnie was not only positive and persistent in her attitude, but also in her problem solving. Many associates came to her for advice while to others she was a true mentor in their careers.
Her friends referred to Winnie as the "Energizer Bunny" due to her boundless energy and work ethic and ability to get things done. Always smiling, she made friends without effort. Winnie was just pure fun to be around. Her husband always teasing her and making her laugh called her his little "Pooh Bear" or "Viking Queen" depending on her mood. Winnie loved holding her beloved shih tzu "Looty", she liked playing cards and not long ago took up Bunco and really enjoyed it. She seemed to excel at whatever she tried, recently including pencil and charcoal drawing.
Some of her favorite memories were cruising, traveling to Europe with her husband, enjoying Hawaii and Las Vegas with other couples. She also enjoyed long walks with her husband.
In lieu of a funeral or memorial currently, the family is waiting until March 14th for an in-person Celebration of Her Life. Additional information on the event venue and final date will be distributed as the COVID-19 situation is further mitigated and we get closer to the planned date.
The family would like to thank all of those who shared in Winnie's life and made memories with her. She lives on in all who knew and loved her.
Lars wanted to personally express his gratitude and appreciation for all the phone calls, texts, emails, cards, and letters as people reached out to him.
In lieu of flowers and gifts the family is instead advising those who are willing and able to donate any amount in Winnie's name to www.PanCan.org
or your local hospice.
