William "Willie" Owen Marcum, 81, of Gibsonton, FL, passed away peacefully on October 4, 2015. Willie was born on Sept. 29, 1934 in Louisville, KY, to the late Millie Ann (Condor/Sharp) and William Albert Marcum. He is survived by his wife, Lois, and daughter, Amanda. Willie was inducted into the U.S. Army in 1958. After leaving the service, he started working as a concessionaire with Pollack Brothers Circus and continued to work fairs, festivals, and carnivals throughout his lifetime. In the late 60's he began a long association with Cedar Point amusement park in Sandusky, OH, starting in the games department, and later producing and selling glow in the dark necklaces. He retired from there and continued working at various events all around Florida. A graveside service will be held on Thursday, October 8th, at 1:30 pm at Serenity Meadows Memorial Park, 6919 Providence Rd, Riverview, FL, 33578. In lieu of flowers, a donation may be made to James A. Haley Veterans Hospital in Tampa, FL, or LifePath Hospice of Hillsborough County.
