LONGSTRETH, William Lawrence, 71, of Brandon , Fla. , passed away Tuesday, January
6, 2009. Bill started his own landscape business in Palm Beach , Fla. , at the age of 22. He went on to become one of the youngest district managers with Western & Southern Life Insurance, and continued working in sales management for more than 40 years, becoming one of the top sales managers in his field. Bill and his wife, Peg, were longtime members of Bell Shoals Baptist Church in Brandon . He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Peg; sons, Bill Longstreth Jr. and his wife, Beth, and Rick Longstreth and his wife, Loretta; his daughters, Liz Young and her husband, Tim, and Marci Hammons and her husband, Rob. Bill and Peg have a total of nine grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his siblings, Marie Bennett, Norma Densmore, Don Longstreth and Dave Longstreth, all of whom will miss him greatly. He was preceded in death by his parents, Ray and Alma, and his brothers, Dick, Wayne and Lloyd Longstreth. Services will be conducted Saturday, January 10, at Bell Shoals Baptist Church , 2102 Bell Shoals Road, Brandon , FL 33511, with Pastor Bob Anderson officiating. The public viewing will begin at 10 a.m., and services will begin at 11 a.m. Interment will follow at Serenity Meadows. A reception will take place at 2 p.m. at Bell Shoals Baptist Church . Bill was one of the nicest men you could ever meet. His family was his treasure.
