Obituary

Jacobsen, William A. (Bill), 71, of Lithia passed away peacefully
Thursday, February 21, 2008 after a three year battle with brain cancer.
(Grandpa) was born March 30, 1936 in Brooklyn, N.Y. He is survived
by his beloved wife, Julie of 50 years; his daughter Michelle and
son-in-law Tim Greene and will be greatly missed by his two very loving
grandchildren, Mariah and Timmy Greene. After serving his country in the
US Army, Bill became a New York City police detective and retired after
20 years of service only to begin a new career as a Registered Nurse.
After once again retiring he fulfilled his true passion and authored and
published three detective novels based upon his experiences as a
police officer. Bill was a member of the NYC Detectives Endowment
Association and an active member in his community. He served on the board of the
Heron Park Homeowners Association and the Fish Hawk Ranch Community
Development District. But by far Grandpa's best accomplishment was
being a loving and doting grandfather for both Mariah and Timmy. He had a
smile for all those he came in contact with and will be missed by all
who knew him. He fought very hard to defy the original prognosis of 6
months he was given three + years ago. With his strong will and Gods
help he was able to see plenty more soccer, basketball and softball
games. So it is only fitting that in lieu of flowers, those who wish to
honor his memory can contribute to the St. Stephen Catholic School
Athletic fund at 10424 St Stephen Circle, Riverview, FL 33569. A memorial
service will be Tuesday, February 26, 2008, at Serenity Meadows Funeral
Home at 6919 Providence Rd, Riverview, FL 33569
