Hamilton, William Lewis "Bill", 64, of Valrico, FL, departed this life on September 3, 2014 after a courageous battle with COPD. The son of William and Ila Hamilton, Bill was born October 25, 1949 in Baltimore, MD, and was raised in Louisville, KY. He proudly served in the US Navy, then moved to northern Virginia and worked for the Federal Government in the General Services Administration, where he successfully saved taxpayers millions of dollars. He enjoyed golfing and bowling and had a passion for blogging at DealingwithCOPD.wordpress.com. Bill was preceded in death by his parents and is survived by his loving family, wife of 36 years, Stephanie of Valrico; daughter, Allison Poindexter and her husband, Stu of Port Richey; granddaughter, Cari of Port Richey; and siblings, Jim, John, Nancy, and Ed, all of Louisville, KY. There will be a memorial service for Bill on Saturday, September 13, 2014 at 11:00 am at the First Presbyterian Church of Brandon. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the American Lung Association or the First Presbyterian Church of Brandon.
