Dr. David Gilmer "Celebration of Life Party"
Saturday, October 27, 2018, 1:30 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.
Dr. Gilmer was soft spoken, kind, generous, smart and so funny in his life. His wishes were for a farewell party, not a funeral, per se.
Friends, family, patients, please come with your Dr. Gilmer stories; the things that stand out in your mind. Let us laugh so hard that he can hear us in heaven. And PLEASE , per his request, wear anything other than funeral attire. If you're wearing black you should be coming as Johnny Cash. Wear scrubs, lab coat, T-shirt with witty saying, anything GATOR, anything relating to flying (his favorite hobby), county music singer, military uniform, work-out gear, skydiver, Einstein or other genius, book worm, John Wayne, should anyone show up looking like Winston Churchill he might come back to life. He was his #1 fan and they shared the same birth date. And ladies, in case you didn't know, you were all beautiful to him, so you can wear whatever you like. He did so love the ladies in their beautiful saris. Please come during the time period and stay as long, or as briefly, as you would like.
In lieu of flowers; memorial donations to Wounded Warriors or Special Olympics in Dr. David Gilmer's memory would be appreciated.
