Meredith, Walter "Walt", born March 4, 1934 passed from the earth January 24, 2014. Walt was born in Glouster, Ohio to John and Helen (McDowell). He served the Navy from 1951-1955 then moved to the Tampa area. He worked in the carnival business, auto sales and co-owned and operated the popular 80's country bar, Walt's Lounge on Nebraska Avenue. Always quick with a joke or card trick, he loved women, cars & poker; not always in that order. Walt was a dedicated supporter of Hope Children's Home and a longtime member of both the Tampa Showmen's Association and the "Gibtown" Club. He is survived by his only child, Linda Meredith Laughridge & her husband Ralph and many, many friends. There will be a private burial at Serenity Meadows in Riverview and a "celebration of life" on February 1st at 2 p.m. at the I.I.S.A. 6915 Riverview Drive, Riverview, FL In lieu of flowers, please make donations to Hope Children's Home, 11415 Hope International Drive, Tampa 33625.
