Virginia Ann Lewis-Whittaker (Vita), Age 53, Panama, died suddenly on Monday January 17, 2011, from the impact of an unexpected two vehicle accident on her way to West Palm Beach, Fl.
Virginia was born on January 30, 1957 in the city of Colon, Republic of Panama. Virginia was a Family Service Specialist for Head Start in Palm Beach County, FL, where she loved working with families in need and facilitating the education of young children. Prior to becoming a family service specialist, she was a preschool teacher at Head Start in Del Ray Beach, Fl; and at MacDill Air Force Base in Tampa Florida; and at Warner Robins AFB in Georgia. Virginia was a very loving and caring wife and mother, wonderful educator and great friend. She was a practicing Catholic and was very involved with the church and Christian Community. Virginia always placed God above everyone and everything, with her family being her greatest earthly love and joy.
Virginia is survived by her husband, Danilo P. Whittaker; daughter, Sharonne P. Whittaker-Phan; son, Danilo Jr., granddaughter Liliana Mai Linh Phan; brothers, Roberto Fitzroy Lewis, Donaldo Lewis, Miguel Lewis, Esteban Lewis, Glenford Lewis; sisters, Lydia Lewis-Reid, Palma Lewis-Henry, Linda Lewis; 23 Nephews and Nieces; 20 Grand Nephews and Nieces.
Virginia is preceded in death by her brother, Timothy Lewis, Panama; father, Marcus F. Lewis, Panama; mother, Adasa M. Lewis, Panama; maternal grandparents, Percibal Martin and Mary Campbell-Martin, Panama; paternal grandparents, Prince Gooding and Vivian Lewis, Panama.
A visitation and tribute to her life will be celebrated with friends and family on Jan. 27th, at Serenity Meadow Funeral Home in Riverview, FL, from 5-8 pm, followed by funeral services on Jan 28 at 10:00 am., at Nativity Catholic Church in Brandon, FL and internment in the Garden of Peace at Serenity Meadows Memorial Park.
