Mrs. Violet P Fawley of Brandon, Florida passed into eternal rest at 9:47 PM on 24 July 2014 at her home in Brandon, Florida. She had suffered from colon and kidney cancer for approximately 4 years. She was a devoted wife and proud mother who had celebrated her 60th wedding anniversary a few months before her demise. She was born the 30 April 1936, the daughter of George Lindsley Cox of Catawba, West Virginia and Esther Virginia Perine of Doddridge County, West Virginia. Her brother, George preceded her in May 2002. She is survived by her husband, Howard, who she married 21 May 1954, sons Howard Earl Junior (Kevin Darlene Edwards) of Virginia Beach, Virginia and Mark Douglas of Manassas Virginia, grandson, Howard Nathan Fawley (Mary) of Chesapeake, Virginia, granddaughter, Greer Kaylan Fawley of Tuscaloosa, Alabama and step-grandson, Mark Whitney Edwards of Virginia Beach, Virginia and sister, Virginia Lea Jones of Pennsboro, West Virginia and numerous nieces and nephews. She had worked in accounting for the Lomas and Nettleton Mortgage Company in Virginia Beach, Virginia, the Bank of Haddenfield in Haddenfield, New Jersey, the Bank of Virginia in Norfolk, Virginia, and operated her own home cleaning service in the tidewater Virginia area. During her husband's naval career, she had lived in the tidewater Virginia area, Key West, Florida, Bremerton, Washington, Charleston, South Carolina, and Dunoon, Scotland. After retirement in 1994 she traveled extensively with her husband throughout the United States until December 2001. She had also enjoyed trips to Paris, France, London, England, a cruise to Alaska and a trip to Hawaii. A memorial service with Pastor Scott Riggs officiating will be held on Monday, 28 July 2014 at 2:00 pm at Serenity Meadows Funeral Home at 6919 Providence Rd., Riverview, FL. She will be cremated and her remains placed in the Florida National Cemetery at Bushnell, Florida.
