Vernon C. Kingery, Jr. met his Lord and Savior on November 14, 2021. He is survived by his loving wife Glenda, and his two children, Ray Kingery and April Kingery Parkhurst. He is also survived by his four grandchildren (Rachel and Rebekah Kingery and Ryan and Emily Parkhurst.
He is also survived by his loving sisters Judi (Gil) Dahnke, and Kathy Kingery and sister-in-law Margie Anderson and brother-in-law Steven.

Vernon was born in Middlesex County, Massachusetts, and grew up in Montrose, Illinois. He graduated from Dieterich High School 1963. He received his AA from St. Leo University in Florida.

He joined the United States Navy in early December 1963. He married his high school sweetheart and the love of his life, Glenda Anderson, on December 14, 1963. During his years in the Navy, he was stationed in 5 countries and 4 states. He was able to have his family him during his entire Navy career (except boot camp). He retired from the Navy in 1983 (after 20 years). After his retirement from the Navy, Vern moved to Tampa. He worked for the United States Postal Service for 22 years as a letter carrier. He moved Hacienda Heights in Riverview, Florida in 2002 to be closer to family.

Vernon loved God first, then his family, sports and his dogs. He loved his grandchildren more than anything (except God). His grandchildren were his joy.Vernon will be remembered for being a wonderful and loving husband, father, and grandfather(Papa).
