Dr. Tibor V. Kovacs, 89, of Riverview, passed away on September 24, 2019. Tibor was born to Lajos and Szeren Kovacs in Sajomercse, Hungary in 1929. He earned his Doctorate in Medicine in 1955 and married the love of his life, Piroska, that same year. They immigrated to Cleveland, OH in 1956 and began a new life here in America. Tibor was a passionate Physician who proudly delivered over 10,000 babies during his career as an OB-GYN. He was known for his kind, compassionate care and for taking the time to listen to his patients. As Tibor's family grew he always had confidence in the wonderful care and support of his wife, Piroska, who ran the family home with grace and love even while Tibor was called out on medical emergencies. Their family was in her safe hands. He enjoyed going to the beach, watching sports, traveling, and spending time with his family, especially attending the sporting events of his grandchildren. Tibor is survived by his loving family, wife of 63 years, Piroska Kovacs; children, Tibor G. (Dottie) Kovacs, Peter (Timea) Kovacs, and Andrea (Shawn) Kennedy; sister, Margit Revai; grandchildren, Jeffrey (Whitney) Kovacs, David (Meagan) Kovacs, Andrew Kovacs, Matthew Kovacs, Kristina Kennedy, and Kayla Kennedy; great-grandchildren, Kendall, Jason, and Owen; and his very dear godson, Arpad 'Al' Misky. We are thankful for the love and support of our many friends, especially Howie and Maria Kennedy and Norma and the late Fred Fadial. There will be a Celebration of Life service on October 5, 2019.
