Thomas H. Miller (84), a long-time resident of the Brandon area, passed January 13th surrounded by his wife and 3 children.

Born October 13, 1936 in Greenville, South Carolina. He earned a degree in history from the Citadel and then proudly joined the U.S. Army working in Intelligence. Tom met the love of his life, Nancy Norman, in 1960. Tom and Nancy celebrated 60 years of marriage in September. They moved to Brandon in 1963 where he ultimately established a business that would become more than a source of income; he developed relationships that felt like an extended family. He became a State Farm agent in 1963 achieving Presidents Club several years. Tom was an entrepreneur who owned several Whataburgers and other restaurants as well as a Real Estate Broker.  He valued education and encouraged and supported his grandchildren through private school and college. Tom was active in the community. He was a former President of the Brandon Chamber of Commerce, was a part of the Planning and Zoning Authority for Hillsborough County, a longtime member of the Brandon Rotary club, and served as the chairman of the board for Fort Brooke Bank. He is preceded in death by his parents, Colquitt and Grace Miller. His wife, Nancy, passed away just three days after him. Tom is survived by his loving family; children, Lynne (Bruce) Korte, Cindy (John) Miller-Ray, and Thom (Christie) Miller, Jr; grandchildren, Christopher (Laura) Korte, Katrina (Bobby) Triplett, Kelly (Nick) Cabina, Kayla Korte, Sky Ray, Micaela Miller, and Gracie Miller; and great-grandchildren, Carlee Korte, Crosby Korte, Annsley Triplett, Gabriel Triplett, Ryder Triplett, Huckston Triplett, Clyde Cabina, and Brooks Cabina.

A Joint Memorial Service for both Tom & Nancy will be held January 21st at 11:00am; Bell Shoals Baptist Church, located 2102 Bell Shoals Rd, Brandon, FL 33511. Visitation is at 10:00am. There will be a Livestream of the service on Facebook.
