Thomas J. Beams Jr. (1975-2018) Apollo Beach- Thomas J. Beams Jr.  Passed away on December 4 ^th 2018 surrounded by family and friends. He was born in Norwich CT. on May 27 ^th 1975. The son of Thomas J. Beams Sr. and Norma (Rokowski) Beams. Tom attended Norwich Public Schools and Norwich Free Academy, graduating with the class of 1993. Tom was most happy when surrounded by his family and pets.

On May 15 ^th 1999, he married the love of his life Jennifer E. (Gernhard) Beams. Together they raised four strong boys; Brian Barr (Lisa Diaz), Thomas J. Beams III, Nicholas A. Beams, and Jacob A. Beams. Two grandchildren Bryson and Kylen. He also survived by his father Thomas J. Beams Sr., mother Norma (Rokowski) Beams ; Siblings Jennifer R. Beams,  Christopher M. Beams and Holly E. (Beams) Bolduc, as well as many aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.

Tom was a hard worker, dedicated to taking care of his family. He worked at the Stop & Shop grocery store before beginning his time as a table game dealer at The Mohegan Sun Casino, where he spent 16 years as a dedicated employee, often referring to himself as a "Day one-er ". Upon relocating to Florida Tom spent his final years as a respected Corrections Officer at the Hardee County Prison. Tom's career as a Corrections Officer was very important to him, as well as his fellow officers. Tom enjoyed many things in life, he was an avid sports fan always sporting his New England Patriots and Boston Red Sox gear. He found joy and relaxation in working on his yard, making sure his lawn was perfect. His outgoing personality and impeccable sense of humor not only made him a funny man, but a friend to everyone he came in contact with. Tom found happiness in playing with his dogs Walter and Betsy and cat Henry. Tom was a kind-hearted and loving father, husband, Papa and friend who always did the right thing. He was always there to lend a helping hand. His contagious laugh and love for telling jokes could brighten up the darkest of days. Tom will be forever missed and loved. God will hold a special place in heaven for Tom.

Thomas' wake will be held at Serenity Meadows Funeral Home, 6919 Providence Rd. Riverview, FL 33578 on Friday December 7 ^th 2018 from 6:00-8:00pm. Burial services are being held on Saturday December 8 ^th 2018 at 10:00am at the corresponding address above at Serenity Meadows Memorial Park. A memorial service will be held in Connecticut for all out of state family and friends. Date and location for the memorial service is to be determined.
