Theordore R. Pitts passed away on July 31, 2017. Ted was born in Tampa, FL on Mar 5, 1926 to Theodore (Red) Pitts and Marian Albury Pitts. He graduated from Plant HS in the 40's and was in the Navy during WWII. At the end of WWII he was stationed in the Pacific. He continued in the Naval Reserve stationed in St. Pete reaching the rank of Captain before retiring. In the late 40's Ted graduated with a BS in Mech Engr from the Univ of FL and started work as an apprentice engineer at U.S.P.P (now part of Mosiac) in Gibsonton, FL. He worked there until his retirement in the early 80's rising to Superintendent of Maintenance. In 1950 Ted married Eleanor Kennington (a teacher at Hillsborough HS). They were married until her passing in 2005. They had two children (Robert and Karen) and have 6 grandchildren and 1 great grandson. A memorial service is planned for Ted at 3PM on Sunday Aug 27, 2017 at Serenity Meadows, 6919 Providence Rd, Riverviewvisitation begins at 2PM.
