Mattox, Thelma K., 98, of Brandon, FL, passed into the presence of our Lord on May 5, 2011. She was predeceased by her husband Horace R. Mattox, and son, Billy W. Mattox. Born in Greenville County, SC she was a daughter of the late Joseph Henry Wilson and Rebecca Loucindy Pearson. Mrs. Mattox was a member of First Baptist Church of Brandon, where she faithfully worked in the church nursery for 50 years. She is survived by her daughter, Rebecca (Ray) New of Beverly Hills, FL; son, Ron (Martha) Mattox of Plant City, FL; daughter-in-law Peggy Mattox of Brandon, FL; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. There will be a funeral service on Tuesday, May 10, 2011 at 11:00 am at First Baptist Church of Brandon, conducted by Dr. Tommy Green, with a visitation one hour prior. The burial will be private.
