Roche, T. Fred, 83 passed away with dignity and grace at his home on May 1, 2013. Fred is survived by his very loving wife Betty. He is also survived by two children, Fred and Marianne as well as three step-children, Patty, Tom, and Bob. All of the children thought of him as their father. Together his five children had ten wonderful grandchildren. Fred was pre-deceased by one granddaughter, Jillian Johnson, who died at the age of three in the year 2001. We know she was holding a place for him in heaven. Fred also served his country during the Korean War and is a Veteran of the U.S.A.F. Besides family, Fred's passion was the Rotary Club. He belonged to many clubs as his work took him to different locations around the country. When he settled in Florida he wanted to start a new Rotary Club in Brandon. He was able to secure the twenty five charter members, and in 1986 the Brandon 86 Rotary Club was established. Fred and the Rotary Club were great at raising money and helped with E.C.H.O. which gives clothes, food, linens, and other items for those in need. The club was also instrumental in obtaining what is now called Camp Rotary of Florida. This is a place in North Brandon where special needs children can camp, swim, and enjoy other children's company. Another project near and dear to Fred was establishing All Person's Playground on Parsons Avenue. This is a park accessible to all people including handicapped adults. A Memorial service will be held at 3:00 pm, Sunday, May 19th, at Serenity Meadows, 6919 Providence Road, Riverview, FL. The family will receive guests from 2:30-3:00. A reception will follow at Mimi's Caf at 804 Providence Road.
