Sydney Taylor (known as Collad) was born on December 10, 1935 at Content, Mahaicony, East Coast Demerara, Guyana. Sadly, he was called away on Friday October 10, 2025 at Tampa, Florida. In 1980, he and his wife migrated to New Jersey and since then moved to Florida over 30 years ago.

Shalini, his Granddaughter, was the joy of his life. He was very much involved in her adolescent life. He taught her to drive and would take her to school activities. She loved when he would take her to swim practice on the weekends; he was Grandpa to all her friends because he was such a jolly person. Six years ago, little Alexander was born, his Great-Grandson and he was so excited. He would say that he hopes that he would live to see his Great-Grandson grow up and take him out for a drive. He had so many plans for the two of them. As for Rascal he would carry on a conversation with him and Rascal would perk up his ears.

He leaves behind a legacy of kindness, courage, and joy. His light will continue to shine through the many lives he touched, both on the ground and in the sky.

He is survived by his loving wife of 68 years, Sheila Taylor, daughter, Evelyn, son-in-law, Lloyd, granddaughter, Shalini, grand-son-in-law, Jeremy, great grandfather of Alexander and Rascal.

He was the son of the late Latchme and Joseph Taylor. Brother of the late Soloman (wife - Vera), Johanna Balkaran (husband – Balram), Agnes DaSilva (husband - Gerry), Mavis Kanhai (husband - Jerry), Hilda Tennasee (husband - Arthur) Christina Madray (husband - Bhuto). He is survived by his brother, Frank (wife - Beatrice) and Sister, Evelyn Taylor (Data). He was the brother-in-law of late Cyril Ramrattan (wife - Carmen), Alfred Ramrattan, Data Ramsarran (husband - Harry), Shirley Sarran (husband - Harold). He is also survived by his brothers-in-law, Buntin Ramrattan (wife - Little), Birdo Ramrattan (wife - Esther), Churchill Ramrattan (wife - Seeta), and Camo Ramrattan (wife -The Late Bibi). Uncle of Patrick Taylor, the late Juliet Singh, the late Lucille Fraser, Joseph Kanhai known as Nono, Esther Narain, Eileen Madray, Grace Plau, the late Lloyd Ramrattan, Glory, Vijay Sarran, Sean Ramrattan, Ghavri Ramrattan, Soma Ramrattan, Rajiv Ramrattan, and many more nieces and nephews, all of whom will forever carry his spirit in their hearts.

Funeral Arrangements for the late Sydney Taylor is as follows:
A Visitation for Sydney will be held on Wednesday, October 22nd from 6:00 pm to 9:00 pm at Serenity Meadows Funeral Home, 6919 Providence Rd, Riverview FL 33578. A Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, October 23rd at 10:00 am followed by Cremation at 12:00 pm, at the same location.
