Madson, Steven Douglas, 73, of Valrico passed away peacefully on January 15, 2016 at the LifePath Hospice House in Sun City. He was born in Spring Valley, Wisconsin to the late Olaf and Ethel Madson and had lived in Minnesota until moving to Florida almost 30 years ago. Steve is survived by Marilynn, his wife of 33 years, son Christian (fianc Loren Hobbs), brother David, sister Cherie (Joe) Weber and many nieces and nephews. He was an all-star athlete in high school and college and enjoyed playing volleyball, tennis and golf. But his real passion was coaching his son in baseball and watching him progress. Steve retired from teaching Economics at various colleges in the Tampa area. He loved to read, write and teach the younger generation. Many will remember his wonderful sense of humor. He will be greatly missed by all his friends and family. A Memorial service to celebrate Steve's life will take place on Friday, January 29, 2016 at 2 PM at Serenity Meadows Funeral Home. The family will receive guests from 1:30 pm to the start of the service.
