IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Stephen Heath
Martin
June 4, 1962 – June 14, 2022
Stephen was born in Tampa General Hospital and grew up on Davis Island Florida. He was a precocious kid always outdoors and up to something. He loved hanging out with friends, fishing, playing tennis, wind surfing and biking. He graduated from Plant High School in 1982 and it is there where he found his first love tennis. Stephen would work his way through college first at HCC and then with a tennis scholarship to go to USF. On the weekends he would teach tennis at the old Davis Island Tennis Club and also worked as an electrician's helper. He ranked top 100 as a Collegiate Athlete. He even had a 1 year stint as a Tennis League coordinator at Harbour Island Athletic Club in Tampa. The most profound moment in his life was on January 15th 1993 when his daughter Ryan Elizabeth was born. Stephen would be working two or three jobs to make ends meet and every time he came home he was with Ryan. Stephen would always be improving the house and every weekend he would be at Home Depot with Ryan in tow. In 1998 Stephen took his background as a Security Officer and a Vessel Cargo Agent at A.R. Savage Shipping Co. to embark on a 24 year career with Port Tampa Operations. In 2016 Stephen was recognized by The Propeller Club, Port of Tampa, as the recipient of the Unsung Hero Award . An honor bestowed on him by a vote taken from Port employees and Maritime leaders and business owners. His favorite vacations spots were varied from Red Rocks Colorado to trips to Maine, The Finger Lakes New York, Savannah Ga, Gatlinburg and Maryville and Chattanooga Tennessee. He loved road trips on the Blue Ridge Parkway and Florida destinations like Sarasota and St Petersburg, along the North California coastline from Redwoods to hiking in Lake Tahoe. He enjoyed South Tampa art galleries and antique stores along with visits to Rennigars Flea Market and Antique Center in Mont Dora, Fl. Stephen was an Avid music lover along with live music venues with artists playing Smooth Jazz, 70's and 80's top 40 love songs, Classic Rock, bluegrass and country . His desire to retire in Greenback Tennessee was never realized but the celestial mountains, flowing rivers and rolling hills of Heaven are now his home. He will be greatly missed. For 17 years he cherished and adored his wife Eve Michelle and she was and is forever grateful! To God be the Glory .
