Acosta, Sonia C., 71, of Wimauma passed away on February 6, 2014 surrounded by her loving family. Sonia was born on December 8, 1942 in Puerto Rico to the late Maximo and Clelia Negron. Sonia moved her family to Florida from New York in 1990. She was an active member of Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church. She also loved spending time with her family. Sonia is survived by a son Robert (Stephanie) Acosta, grandchildren; Robert Acosta Jr., Jasmine (Gabriel) Ventura, and Jaiden Acosta, a great granddaughter Gabrielle Ventura, two brothers; Wally and Wilson Maya, a sister Carmen Rivera. Sonia was preceded in death by her parents and a son Carlos Acosta. Funeral services will take place on Monday February 10, 2014 at 10 am at Serenity Meadows Funeral Home. The family will receive guests on Sunday February 9, 2014 from 2-4pm at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Sonia's name to Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church 7001 12th Ave. South Tampa, Florida 33619.
