Shirley Marie Knight (86) of Gibsonton, Florida passed away peacefully in her home on September 15, 2023, surrounded by family.
Shirley was born in St. Cloud Minnesota on January 4, 1937. Shirley grew up in San Diego before meeting her husband, Jack, and moving to Lafayette, Indiana. There they raised their four children. Shirley spent her time enriching the lives of her friends and the elementary students she tutored for many years before retiring to Florida with Jack.

Shirley is survived by her husband Jack and her family,Debra (Bill), Chris, David (Paula), Jackie (Shannon), along with her sister Pat. Shirley is also predeceased by her son Kevin. Shirley will also be sorely missed by her seven grandchildren and her eleven great grandchildren.

Shirley always had a passion for people, from the life long friends she and Jack made, to the hundreds of elementary students she loved to tutor. During her life Shirley enjoyed her card club, bowling club, and ayears-long membership in the Red Hat Club. Shirley also had a passion for travel as her and Jack traveled to every state in the US (mostly by motorhome), as well as several different countries. Shirley loved to spend time with her grandkids, visiting and traveling with them as much as possible.

A service will be held for Shirley on Thursday,September 21, 2023 at 4:00 pm. The service will be held at Serenity Meadows,6919 Providence Rd. Riverview, FL 33578.
