Shirley Ann (Hoosock) Zaccari, age 77, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, March 16, 2013. Shirley was born on December 3, 1935, in Syracuse, New York, the daughter of the late George and Josephine Hoosock.
A native of Syracuse, New York, Shirley was a 1954 graduate of St. Anthony of Padua High School. One of seven siblings, Shirley enjoyed playing the piano and found delight in spending time with her family and friends.
On May 4, 1957, Shirley married the love of her life, James A. Zaccari, Airman First Class with the United States Air Force. Married for 56 years, Shirley spent her life travelling with James and their four children around the world. During this time, she worked 22 years for the Department of Defense in various military hospitals and retired in 1997 as the wife of a Chief Master Sergeant.
Shirley is survived by her loving family, her devoted husband of 56 years, James A, Zaccari; four loving children and their spouses Judith Ann (Gerald) Olson (Waupaca, WI), Dr. James A. (Irina) Zaccari (Valrico, FL), William Sisto Zaccari (Valrico) and Susan Zaccari (Shaun) Rabel (Brandon); two sisters Elizabeth Castle (Port Richey, Florida) and Marion Warner (Tully, New York); sister-in-law Judith Hoosock (Camillus, NY); brother-in-law William Apps (Camillus, NY); brother-in-law Anthony P. (Nancy) Zaccari (Nashville, TN); adoring grandchildren Jocelyn Aho (Neenah, WI), Brandon Wittman (Kaukauna, WI), Kristin Olson (Neenah, WI), Michael Zaccari (Valrico, FL), David Zaccari (Valrico, FL), John Zaccari (Valrico, FL), William Zaccari, Jr, (Valrico, FL), Hayley Zaccari (Valrico, FL), Ryan Rabel (Brandon, FL), Zachary Rabel (Brandon, FL) and many nieces, nephews and great grandchildren that adored her. Visitation will be held at Serenity Meadows Funeral Home on Thursday, March 21, 2013 from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church, Seffner, FL on Friday, March 22, 2013 at 10:00 am.
