Shirley Emeline (Sumner) Freeman, 79, passed away peacefully at home on Wednesday, November 19, 2014. Shirley is survived by her husband Al, her daughter Susette, sons Bert, Richard, and Joe, her sisters Sally Hirsch of Clearwater and Sondra Simon (Julian) of Lakeland, nine beautiful grandchildren, three precious great grandchildren, and adored by her many nieces and nephews, and three devoted daughters in law Shelly, Kelley, and Sandy. Shirley was born June 7, 1935 in Lakeland, FL. to Sam and Emeline Sumner. She married Al in 1956 on December 1. They shared 58 wonderful and happy years together. Shirley was a devout Christian, kind-hearted and always greeted everyone she met with a huge smile. She was known for her incredible, infectious laugh. Funeral services will be held at 2:00pm Saturday, November 22, at Holy Innocents' Episcopal Church, 604 N. Valrico Rd., Valrico, FL. 33594.
