Sherron
Thompson
August 16, 1948 — October 8, 2021
Sherron Jean Willis Thompson was born on August 16, 1948 in Cairo, Illinois to the union of Robert Willis and Cleopal Grice. Sherron is preceded in death by her mother, father, brothers Ralph Willis and Gerald Grice, sister Charlotte McCullum-Green and four grandsons, William Antwain Jones, Courtney Allen Frierson, Adarrius Darzel Thompson and Aramis Thompson.
Sherron worked for the U. S. Postal Service, Chicago District, for 35 years and she retired in January 2004. She was well thought of by her peers as being honest with much integrity.
On March 20, 1984, Sherron married William Thompson. Together, Sherron and William learned the truth about what Jehovah has proposed for mankind by means of his Kingdom. Sherron was baptized as one of Jehovah's Witnesses on October 1, 1989, and she remained steadfast in her Christian beliefs until her death. She also shared the good news of the Kingdom with her family, friends and others that she met in the field ministry.
Because she was a capable wife and mother, her husband, children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren were the center of her life. She desired that each child would someday serve the true God Jehovah.
Sherron had a great sense of humor and always made others laugh. She loved to travel. She and William visited many cities and countries. They always found the local Kingdom Hall to meet and fellowship with their brothers and sisters. This interchange solidified and strengthened their love for the Christian brotherhood. Sherron was also a very kind and generous person. She exemplified the words found at 2 Timothy 4:7 "l have fought the fine fight, I have run the course to the finish, I have observed the faith.
