Obituary

Tomlinson, Scott D., 51, of Thonotosassa passed away on August 25, 2015. Scott is survived by his loving family, wife, Cathy Tomlinson; daughters, Brittani Hall (Jeremy), and Baileigh Tomlinson (Fanuel Polanco), mother, Judith Uschold (Bob); father, Charles Tomlinson; brothers, Ricky Tomlinson and Jeff Tomlinson, sister, Nancy Simmons; and five grandchildren. He was a successful business owner who built a company over the past three decades. In his younger years, he was often called 'dark to dark' as he left before sunrise and arrived home long after sunset. His dedication to hard work allowed his company to thrive. Although he may have been hard, he was always fair. Scott always lived life to the fullest. He was an avid fisherman and hunter both locally and around the world; making life long friends. His passion for fishing the Boca Grande waters won him multiple tournaments including the World's Richest Tarpon Tournament in 1998. As a founder of the Chattahoochee hunting club in Georgia, he most enjoyed bringing new hunters and kids into the sport often guiding them on their first successful trips. He enjoyed all big game hunting, and through the years grew the most fond of turkey hunting. If Scott wasn't hunting or fishing you could find him in the kitchen. He enjoyed being surrounded by his friends and feeding them his home cooked meals while watching football. His greatest accomplishments in his life were his daughters. Blessing him with five wonderful grandchildren, who knew him as 'Poppee'. Being surrounded by his grandkids brought out the kid in Scott. No person could have asked for a more devoted husband. Cathy and Scott shared a love for hunting and fishing; they truly enjoyed just being together. There is no way to put into words everything he was to so many people. He was loved by all who knew him. He will be greatly missed. Visitation will be held at Serenity Meadows Funeral Home in Riverview from 3-5 on 9/3.
