IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Sara Ann
Killin
November 14, 1928 – May 30, 2022
Sara Ann Boone Killin, 93, entered the Kingdom of Heaven peacefully on May 30, 2022 with her family at her side.
Sara was born on November 14, 1928, in Indianapolis, Indiana, to Claude Edward Boone and Edna Mae Stewart Sutherland. She had seven siblings, all of whom proceeded her in death. Sara was married to Phil Killin from 1956 to 1976. Sara and Phil moved their family to Brandon, Florida in June 1970. In 1978 Sara moved to Lakeland, Florida and remained there until her death.
She is survived by her five children; Pamela Tankersley , Barbara Kirkland (Jon), Wade Killin (Valerie), Dee Dee Curran (Jim), and Jill Wesner ; 10 grandchildren ; Amy Munilall (Terry), Carrie Kinney, Kara Benzer (Brandon), Matthew Tankersley (Shannon), Joel Killin (Hyemin), Mike Curran, Sara McGowan (Trevor), Jonathan Kirkland (Ashley), Brooke Wesner, and Kati Curran; and four great grandchildren; Joshua Munilall, Kennedy Munillal, Matthew Tankersley Jr. and William McGowan.
She was a devoted mother, grandmother and friend. To know her was to love her and be loved by her. She never met a stranger and would strike up conversations with anyone. She worked for General Telephone for many years and after her retirement she kept herself busy by continuing to work! Even with her family spread across various states she always found time to be there for each of them. She could often be found with her Bible, a book or crossword puzzle in her hand or cheering on her favorite sports team .
A devout Christian, her unwavering faith in her Heavenly Father is the foundation upon which she built her life . She was an active member of her church and sang in the church choir for many years. She also spent countless Sunday mornings greeting c ongregation members with a smile and witty remark. Her greatest gift was in her discipleship and the many friends and family who came to know Jesus through knowing her . Her family will miss her sweet and radiant presence in their lives but rejoice knowing she is at peace and resting as the good and faithful servant she was.
"I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith." 2 Timothy 4:7
In lieu of flowers please consider a donation to Life Church International via Venmo @Brooklynn-Simmons or by mail
Life Church International is a ministry dedicated to planting churches in the areas that need it the most. We currently have 50 churches in the northern mountains of Nicaragua where we are sharing Jesus's love and forgiveness every week. We believe that the church is the ground zero to meet the needs of the people and be the hands and feet of God. The ministry has several churches in the planting stages and all donations will be used to help repair the church buildings, provide them with the necessary supplies to hold services, and assist the Pastors and their families. Sara has been a supporter of my work here for 7 years and her faithfulness has blessed so many people. She was the example of someone dedicated to seeing the gospel spread to all ends of the earth. Thank you for honoring her in this way. -Brooklynn Simmons
