Grego, Sam, 65, of Riverview, FL, formerly of Hammond, LA, surrendered to the Lord on Tuesday, October 7th, 2014 passing peacefully with his devoted wife at his side. He was preceded in death by his parents, Frank & Katie (Accardo) Grego and survived by his wife, Janet Grego; her two daughters, Kasie Tregre & Kelli Woods; sons-in-law, Hani Bucheeri & Joe Woods; & four grandchildren, Deja, Gavin, Justin & Yusif. Sam was a Vietnam War Veteran, a loyal friend, husband, father, & grandfather and a true warrior throughout his battle with cancer. He was an avid boat lover and an expert Marine Diesel Engine Mechanic - especially proud of having provided fleet support services to the U.S. Coast Guard over the past decade. Services will be held on Friday, October 17 at Serenity Meadows Memorial Gardens, 6919 Providence Rd, Riverview FL in honor of his life and incomparable spirit. The family will receive visitors from 6-7pm and a Memorial Service will follow at 7pm. In lieu of flowers, the family wishes for donations to be made to the Pediatric Cancer Foundation in Tampa, FL and/or Life Path Hospice Care Facility in Sun City, FL; who provided extraordinary comfort and support to both Sam & the family in their time of need.
