Payne, Ruby M., 95, passed away on January 5, 2010. Ruby is a lifelong resident of Gibsonton, FL and recently lived at Hawthorne Village in Brandon. She is preceded in death by her husband, James E "Bud" Payne. Ruby is survived by her loving family, children, Sharon (Edward) Simpson of Brooksville, Janice Nichols of Gibsonton, Mike (Barbara) Payne of Gibsonton and Linda (Bob) Kemp of Riverview; grandchildren, Barry Washburn, Kane Washburn, Trudi Murray, Michele Nichols, Melia Nichols, Sherri Simpson, Shelly Powser, Jason Payne, Wendy Payne and Brandi Kemp; 17 great-grandchildren and 9 great-great-grandchildren; sister, Clara Brackett of Blairsville, GA; sister-in-law, Betty Cearly of Lakeland and brother-in-law Bill Payne of Lakeland. There will be a gathering of family and friends on Friday, January 8, 2010 from 1:00 pm to 2:00 pm at Serenity Meadows Funeral Home, followed by a graveside service at Hackney Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to LifePath Hospice, Silver Team, 12973 Telecom Parkway, Ste 100, Temple Terrace, FL 33637.
