On Tuesday, March 14, 2023, Rory Dale Hendrix, beloved husband and father passed away at the age of 63.

Rory was born April 24, 1959 in Tampa, FL to A.E. and Antoinette (Miller) Hendrix. A self-proclaimed "Jack of All Trades", he was happiest when working with his hands or building something. On June 3, 1978, Rory married the love of his life, Barbara (Holt) Gill in Bloomingdale, FL. Together, they raised two children, a son, Travis, and a daughter, Deanna.

A life-long resident of Hillsborough County, Florida, Rory was known for being tough and stubborn but possessed a heart of gold. An avid animal lover, he could never stand to see an animal suffering and brought home many strays and unwanted dogs over the course of his lifetime. He was also a voracious reader who had read innumerable books and lore, but Science Fiction was his favorite genre.

Rory was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Alex and Horace. He is survived by his wife, Barbara, two children, Travis and Deanna, four granddaughters, Shayla, Ashley, Hope and Gracelyn, four brothers, Gene, James, Lewis and Charles and sister, Julie, several nieces and nephews.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Monday, April 24, 2023, at Serenity Meadows Funeral Home at 6919 Providence Rd, Riverview, FL 33578 at 3 pm.
