Bergsten, Ron, 68, of Valrico, FL, entered Heaven on April 10, 2009, surrounded by his loving family. He was born February 9, 1941 to Reuben and Gladys Hilding Bergsten in Red Oak, IA. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, parents, and younger brother, Larry Bergsten. He is survived by his wife, Audrey Bergsten of Valrico, FL; daughters, Elke Bergsten of Valrico, FL and Darby (Jesse) Herald of Valrico, FL; grandchildren, Hollis and Leghton Herald; brother, Marve (Pat) Bergsten of Council Bluffs, IA; and cousins Bob Bergsten, Diane Danielson, Joanie Sibley, and Suzi Bryant; aunts and uncles, Phyllis Bergsten, Lillian Tolslesfrud, and Daniel and Judy Bergsten; nephews, Mark and Ben; niece, Diane; and many close friends. Ron graduated from the University of Nebraska with a degree in Business Administration. He was a well known commercial real estate developer in Tampa. His career spanned over 40 years and began in Kansas City, MO at Kroh Brothers Development Co. After he and his wife moved to FL he continued with a very successful career. He was a leader in developing the Westshore/Airport area. He developed several outstanding office parks and several strip mall shopping centers in FL. He also worked with the Taylor Woodrow Co. out of London, England. Ron was a very committed Christian. He served as the past chairman of the Christian Business Mens Association and he devoted a great deal of time to Overcomers, a ministry that worked with people during the recovery process from addictions. He was also a member of several professional organizations and a past member of the Tampa Yacht and Country Club. We will miss him so much.
