Button, Rodney E. "Pete", 69. of Tampa went home to be with his Lord and Savior on Tuesday, May 10, 2011. Born in Montour Falls, New York, Pete had been a local resident since 1972 moving here from Watkins Glen, New York.

He was a retired Electronic Senior Buyer for the Honyewell Company and most recently from Reptron.

Pete was a member of Idlewild Baptist Church, and loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren and great grand children. He also loved church where he served with the Homeless Ministry, cooking, the beach and taking vacations in the mountains.

Survivors include his loving wife of 50 years, Ruby, daughters; Theresa Pages, Colleen (Mark) Maddox, brothers; Thomas (Kathy) Button, Richard Button, sisters; Sally (Richard) Keefer, and Karen Button, seven grandchildren, Jessica, Sergio, Brittany, Juan, Katie, Abby, Anna and three great grandchildren, Bradley, Juliet and Victoria. He was preceded in death by his parents Wayland and Luella (Hicock) Button and his sisters, Patricia Button and Shirley Beebe. A funeral service will be held on Friday, May 13, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. at Serenity Meadows Funeral Home with Dr. Paul Enns officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home one hour prior to service time. Burial will follow at Serenity Meadows Memorial Park.
