Obituary

Dr. Roberto Padilla-Acosta, "Robert", 76, passed away on January 5th, 2025 in Tampa Florida.

Roberto was born in San German, Puerto Rico in 1948, to parents Luis Alberto Padilla and Ana Mercedes Acosta. He served in the Army as a Clinical Specialist from 1968 through 1970. He was awarded the "National Defense Service Medal" and the "Marksmanship Badge". After the military he became a civilian nurse and decided to pursue further medicine studies, for which he traveled to Dominican Republic and enrolled at the Universidad Central del Este. He became a Medicine Doctor in 1978.

Dr. Roberto Padilla-Acosta was a healthcare provider in Mayaguez, Puerto Rico, with a specialty in Family Medicine. He worked in several hospitals in the west of the island, one of them being Hospital San Antonio in Mayaguez, Puerto Rico before he established his own private practice. He served the community and treated patients for over 40 years. He was well known, loved and respected by his colleagues and patients. He always provided compassionate and quality care and treated patients like family members.

Roberto was preceded in death by his wife Luz Ivette Lozada. He is survived by his six children, thirteen grandchildren and one great granddaughter.

Roberto's viewing will be held at Serenity Meadows Memorial Park, Funeral Home & Crematory, on Friday January 10th, 2025. Religious service and burial to follow.
