Schoch, Robert P. "Bob", 81, of Brandon, FL passed away on December 23, 2017. He was born in Reading, PA on Jan 29, 1936 to Martha and Walter H. Schoch. He served in the military at Fort Carson, CO and served in the Infantry Battalion. He attended Reading Business School and studied accounting which led him to The White Motor Co. in Newark, NJ. He worked for many years in Heavy Duty Parts at Cummins Diesel and Major Truck Company. Bob moved to Apopka, FL from NJ and made his way to the Tampa Bay Area in 1965. Bob worked for the Hillsborough County Suicide and Crisis Center as a counselor and manager; this was his most satisfying job and the one closest to his heart. He was also a volunteer at Brandon Regional Hospital. He and his wife, Schirey, attended Victory Baptist Church. Bob served as the choir director for churches here in Tampa and Apopka. He loved to sing and listen to Gospel music. Bob is preceded in death by his first wife, Marilyn R Schoch. He is survived by his loving family, wife, Schirey D Nelson Schoch; son, Michael A Schoch, his wife, Vicki Schoch, children, Jason M. Schoch, Eric Schoch, Adam Schoch, Andrew Schoch, Shana Mendelson, and grandchildren, Gaberiella Schoch and Joshua Schoch; daughter, Cynthia M. Plemmons, her son, Alton Plemmons, III and grandson, Alton Plemmons, IV; daughter, Merry C Schoch, her husband, Marion Gwizdala, daughter, Sunshine Conger, and granddaughter, Hanna Conger; and son, Robert P Schoch, II, his wife, Angela Schoch, and children, Robert P Schoch, III, Alex Schoch, and Angela Schoch; and step-children, Troy, Todd, Ty, Erik, and Sara Nelson. There will be a memorial service on Saturday, January 13, 2018 at 11:00 am at Serenity Meadows Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to LifePath Hospice or Cat Call of Brandon, Inc.
