Robert Raymond Houle, father to Steven R. Houle (Samantha) and Teresa "Terri" Houle Mackley (Mark), passed away on Monday evening, April 22nd after a long battle with health issues related to Agent Orange. He served in the United States Air Force for 8 years with a tour in Vietnam. For the past 22 months, he was lovingly cared for by the staff and nurses at Baldomero Lopez, VA Nursing Home, in Land O' Lakes, Florida.

Known as a remarkable man for his colorful language and overt gestures of endearment, he was always there to help. Many family and friends have fond memories of him sharing his skills, helping them build a room or grow plants. His generosity knew no bounds. Whether you called him; Robert R, Bob, Pop, Dad, Papa, or Uncle, he made a lasting impression on you and will be dearly missed by all who knew him. We hope that you who knew him well will remember the joy he brought to others in life. He's cherished by his 5 grandchildren (Joshua, Megan, Chelsea, Katie,and Hannah) and each have their special bond that will always remind them that "Papa" is with them. He also has 10 great grandchildren. He is survived by his two sisters Lorraine Scrivano and Pauline Brunelle and many of his nephews and nieces. They say you save the best for last, that would be his loving wife of 67 years, Joyce N Mauldin. They met while he was stationed in Greenville SC in 1956 and were married that same year.

A memorial service on Saturday, May 18th, 2024, will be held at Serenity Meadows, 6919 Providence Road, in Riverview, Florida. The family will receive visitors at 11 am. and service starting at noon.
