Robert Eugene Day, 82, of Sun City Center, FL, passed away on Wednesday, May 20, 2020 at the Sun City Center Hospice House.  Born on October 8, 1937 in Cleveland, OH to the proud parents of Russell B. & Ethel L. (Kyser) Day, Robert was a retired ammunition specialist for the U.S. Department of Defense.  He proudly served our country by serving in the US Army, Navy and Air Force.  He was also proud of the over 5000 volunteer hours he served at Bay Pines VA Hospital.  Robert moved to the area in 1993, coming form Tuscon, AZ and he was a member of the VFW, former member of the Elks and a Lutheran.  Survivors include his beloved wife, Ruth; his two loving daughters: Bonnie & Edward Pichette and Joyce & Ronald Bosserman; along with four grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren. Inurnment will take place at Sarasota National Cemetery with military honors at a later date. In lieu of flowers donations may be made  to Sun City Center Hospice House located at 3725 Upper Creek Dr, Ruskin, FL 33573
