Obituary

Smith, Robert C. "Bobby" 74 of Tampa, Florida passed away August 26, 2017 surrounded by his loving family under the care of LifePath Hospice. Born on May 13, 1943 in Hillsborough County, Florida to the late Robert Benjamin Smith and Robbie Foy Smith. Most of his childhood was spent in Ruskin, Florida. He was Episcopal by faith, and graduated from East Bay High School in 1962. Early in 1961 he met the love of his life and soulmate Linda McIntyre(Linda graduated on a Monday, and they Married on Friday). They were Blessed to have 54 years of marriage. After their marriage on June 12, 1964, they immediately moved to Chicopee Falls, MA where he served in the U.S. Air Force. Their first child Marna Louise was born there in September of 1965. He served there until January of 1967. After serving in the military they returned to the Tampa Bay Area where he began his career as a photo finish operator for the area dog tracks. In March of 1968 their second child Robbie Lorain was born and in August of 1975 their family was completed with the birth of their son Robert Douglas. Bobby and his family remained in Tampa the remainder of his life where he raised his family. Bobby was a dedicated husband and father and loved his family unconditionally. He was an honest and Godly man and touched many lives, especially the young people that grew up with his children, he was a father image to many. He was finally Blessed as his family grew and he gained Scott Kleinotas, Alexander Morales and Samantha Guess. Then he was so proud to become GrandPapa/Papa to Ashley(Dakota), Rebecca, Garen(Michelle), Maya and Briyana, They were truly the highlight of his life. Bobby fought a long hard battle with Lewey Bodies Dementia. He was Blessed to have kept his memory of his loved ones. He loved each of them to the very end. His family gave him love and support and were with him as he went to be with our Lord and Savior. Survivors include his wife Linda Gayle Smith of 54 years; two daughters Marna Louise(Alexander) Morales, and Robbie Lorain(Scott) Kleinotas; one son Robert Douglas(Samantha) Smith; three sisters Martha Jane(Jimmy) Anderson, Robbie Faye(Ronnie) Driggers, and Betty(Bobby) Carter; one brother John Henry(Margie) Smith. The family would like to thank his caregivers, especially April Harbrook, Dorothy and Mister for their excellent care, and thanks to LifePath Hospice, his VA Home Health care team and the VA Doctors for their care and support. A Celebration of Life Service will be at 6:00PM, Friday, September 15, 2017 with guest to be received one hour prior at Serenity Meadows Funeral Home, 6919 Providence Road, Riverview, FL 33578. Interment will be with military honors in the gardens of Serenity Meadows at a later date. In lieu of flowers, contributions are requested to LifePath Hospice.
