Rita Christina Thatcher
88, passed away February 27, 2007 in Brandon, FL.
Rita was born on April 27, 1918 in New Bavaria, Ohio to the late Ida (Eiden) and John Rothman. On November 28, 1936 she married Ronald Isaac Thatcher and he survives in Brandon, FL. Ron and Rita celebrated their 70th wedding anniversary in Brandon, FL in 2006. Also surviving are her children: Ronald (Terri), Santa Maria, CA, Kay (Richard) Pickens, Deshler, OH,
Diane (Leo) Brubaker, Naples, FL, William, Holland, OH,
Bryan (Susan), Valrico, FL. She is also survived by 27 grandchildren and 28 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Theresa Snyder, granddaughter, Denise Pickens, four great-grandchildren Michael, Danielle, David and Steven Dachenhaus, brothers, Floyd, Leroy, Elmer, Norman and Claude, sisters, Nina, Esther, Marie, Bernice and Cecilia.
Rita was a lifelong resident of Deshler and a member of
Immaculate Conception Catholic Church where she was active in the Altar-Rosary Society and numerous committees. Visitation will be at Serenity Meadows Funeral Home, 6919 Providence Road, Riverview, FL 33569 on Tuesday, February 27, 2007 from 6:00 pm - 7:30 pm followed by Rosary and Prayer Service at 7:30 pm. Public visitation will be Wednesday, February 28, 2007 from 6:00 pm - 9:00 pm at Rodenberger Funeral Home, 133 E. Maple Street, Deshler, OH 43516. Mass of Christian Burial will take place at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Deshler, OH on Thursday, March 1, 2007 at 10:30 am with Father Paul Fahrbach presiding. Burial will follow in Woodlawn Cemetery. Memorials may be made to:
