O'Brien, Rita Marie, 62, of Riverview, passed away on January 20, 2017. Rita made a home for her family in the Brandon area for almost 30 years although Oneonta, NY, where she grew up, has always been her hearts' true home. Rita was a dedicated wife, devoted mother, off the charts' grandma and a lifelong friend. She was a successful business owner who had a passion for living life and found comfort in her relationship with God. She is preceded in death by her father, Frank H. Patten, Sr. Rita is survived by her loving family, husband of 28 years, John; children, Daniel Byam, Meghan O'Brien, Daniel (Alison) O'Brien, and Sean (Lyndsey) O'Brien; mother, Virginia Lorraine Patten; brothers, Wayne Patten and Frank Patten, Jr; sisters, Darleen Patten and Dorene (Michael) Senseney; and grandchildren, Camille O'Brien, Ellie O'Brien, Sawyer Steward, Veronica McNutt, Sabrina Kramer, and Savannah Kramer. There will be a memorial gathering on Friday, January 27, 2017 from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm at Serenity Meadows Funeral Home, with a memorial service at 2:30pm.
