Rita I Mullen, 93, of Sun City Center peacefully joined Joseph, her loving husband of 60 years, on March 12, 2013. Born in Boston in 1919 she spent her life caring for her husband and family. She enjoyed golf, bridge, needle work, crafts, bowling. But most of all she enjoyed laying on Waikiki Beach watching the sunset over Honolulu Harbor where she spent 15 years of her life. And cats, we must never forget her persian cats that she had most of her life. She was also a devote Catholic and aided Resurrection Catholic Church in creating angel costumes for the annual Christmas pagaent.She leaves behind two loving daughters, Karen Mullen of Ashland, OH, and Denise Silva of Lithia, FL, granddaughters Allison Rodde of Salinas, CA and Jennifer Starcher of Ashland, OH, grandsons Brian and Paul Rodde of Salinas, CA, Todd Mullen of Ashland, OH, Derek Schnieder of San Diego, CA and Scott Schneider of Lithia, FL and two great grandsons, Cameron Lance and Elijha Starcher of Ashland, OH.
She was predeceased by her husband Joseph F. Mullen, her eldest daughter Cheryl Rodde, her parents Mary Christine (Almon) Savage and Harry Savage of Boston and her sister Meriam Heylen.
A private service will be held for the family.
