Richard James Overcash, 72, of Plant City passed away peacefully on July 26, 2017. He was born in Aurora, Illinois, and moved to Tampa in 1970. Richard retired from Hillsborough County Fire Rescue as a Captain in November 1995. He was preceded in death by his parents, Leonard and Doris; a sister, Jeanie; a brother, Lennie; and a grandson, Kenny. He is survived by his loving wife of 42 years, Louise; five children, Michael, Katheryn (Bennie), Kris, Rick (Ashley), and Karen; five grandchildren, Courtney, Benjamin, Isaac, Audrey and Nolan; and one great-grandchild, Cayleigh.
There will be a Funeral service at The Connection Assembly of God located at 2910 Orient Road, Tampa, FL 33619, on Monday, July 31. The family will receive friends and guests at 10 am. The service is at 11 am, followed by a brief graveside service at Serenity Meadows, 6919 Providence Road, Riverview, FL 33578.
