Richard P. "Dick" Russo passed away peacefully on July 13, 2017. Born November 2, 1940, to Joe and Dahlia Russo. He was preceded in death by his daughter Angela and his parents. Dear father to his sons Rick (Tanya), and Nelson (Kelli). Loving Nano to grandsons Chad (Jamie), Ricky, Jacob, Dominic; 3 great grandsons and dear brother to his siblings Joe (JoAnn), Art (Sandy), and Sarah and to his many nieces, nephews and friends. Dick was a respected entrepreneur and the founder of Dick Russo Insurance, Russo Enterprises, Dahlia Corporation, and Russo Financial Group. He was the past president of the Insurance Agents of Greater Tampa and the Hillsborough Convention and Visitors Association where he was instrumental in bringing Super Bowl XVIII to Tampa. He was el Baron of the Krewe of the Knights of Sant' Yago and served on many additional boards to benefit Nativity Catholic Church and the community. In memory of his daughter Angela, along with her mother, Lillian, he founded the Angela Musette Russo Foundation. The foundation was committed to fighting breast cancer and established a scholarship at Florida State University. A funeral Mass will be conducted 10 a.m. Wednesday, July 19, 2017 at Nativity Catholic Church with interment to follow in Myrtle Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Tuesday, July 18, 2017 at the funeral home.
