Ricardo L. Benitez

October 22, 1963 – April 17, 2019

Ricardo Luis Benitez, 55, of Brandon, FL went to be with our Heavenly Father on Wednesday, April 17, 2019. Rick spent his childhood as a military brat living in many places many of us just dreamt about. In 1982 he proudly joined the US Army where he served 8 years.

In 1998 Rick received his computer science degree. He worked many years in the industry and enjoyed it very much.

He was a loving son, brother, husband, father, grandfather and loved his little dog Mari so very much. Rick was our rock and lived for his family. The love he shared ran deep and true.

Rick had a zest for life and his happy place was with his family or on the water with his wife and his extended jet ski family.  He was known for his kind heart, generosity and willingness to help others. He was a loyal friend in every sense of the word. He will be missed beyond measure by so many who knew him.

Rick is one of 6 children born to Miguel and Alba. He was preceded in death by his father and Mother. Survived by his siblings; Jose, Maria, Jerry, George and Eddie.

Rick is survived by his wife Brenda Benitez, sons Richard Benitez, Robert Benitez, Vincent Benitez and daughters Nichole (Macho) Rojas and Brittany Edsall. Grandchildren, Aiden, Nevaeh, Adrian, Danica and (coming soon) Lynleigh.

Although we miss him dearly and our lives are forever changed, our love is never ending. We take comfort knowing he is rejoicing in Heaven. What a gift!

Visitation will be on Wednesday, April 24, 2019 from 2-4 with a celebration of life to follow at Serenity Meadows Funeral Home in Riverview.

Inurnment with U.S. Army Honors will be conducted on Friday, May 10, 2019 at 2:00 pm at Florida National Cemetery, Bushnell, FL.
