Wilson

Ray's obituary
Raymond "Ray" Wilson, age 74, of Gibsonton, Florida, passed away on January 7, 2026. He
was born on February 27, 1951, in Bradenton, Florida.
Ray built a hardworking and dedicated career replacing windshields, a trade he committed
himself to for over 30 years. He took pride in his work and the life he built. In his free time, Ray
loved jamming out to music, especially classic rock. He enjoyed watching old reruns of
Gunsmoke and Bonanza, which brought him comfort and nostalgia. Ray also loved going out
to the Gibsonton bars, where he enjoyed good company, laughter, and having a fun time. He
also had a deep appreciation for Ford trucks—especially his Ford Raptor and the F-150s he
owned—and was known for having great taste in trucks.
Ray is survived by his sister, Jeannie Tarrant (Wendell); his son, Travis Wilson (Kaydee); his
grandson, Kayden Wilson; his granddaughter, Grace Wilson; and many nieces and nephews.
Ray was preceded in death by his father, Raymond D. Wilson; his mother, Norma Wilson; his
sister, Carolyn Duren; his partner, Joanne Gorham; and his grandson, Jacob Wilson.
Private services will be held.
He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him
