Obituary

Raymond J. Miranda, 89, of Brandon, Florida passed away on December 16, 2024. Raymond was a loving husband, father, son, brother, uncle, grandfather, and great grandfather who will be deeply missed. He was quiet man who made a big impact on everyone around him.

Raymond was born on May 17, 1935 in Brooklyn, New York. He graduated from Brooklyn Technical High School (Brooklyn Tech) and then attended university in Manhattan. At the age of 21 he married Josephine, and they went on to raise their three children, Carol-Lynn, Lisa, and Raymond in Bayside, Queens in New York. Raymond was active in their home parish of Sacred Heart in Bayside, serving on the Finance Committee, and working with bereaved members of the parish. Raymond was a civil engineer and worked for the City of New York for over thirty-five years. He retired as an Assistant Surveyor-in-Charge for the City of New York.

Over thirty years ago Raymond made the move with Josephine to Brandon, Florida. He was so happy to be out of the cold and to never have to think about shoveling snow again. He loved the sunshine in Florida, the longer days, and the lake and birds behind their house. He became an active parishioner in Nativity Catholic Church where he and Josephine served as Eucharistic Ministers and Monday morning counters.

Raymond was a devoted husband to Josephine and a loving father to their children Carol-Lynn (John), Lisa (Jay) and Raymond (Laurie) . He was also a proud grandfather to Lynn Marie , John, Michael , Madison, Olivia, Raymond, Christopher, Nicholas and Alex, and great grandfather to John, Antonia and Joseph.

To celebrate Raymond's life a Mass of Christian burial was celebrated in Brandon Florida.
