Charlton, Raymond Fairfax, 73, of Brandon passed away on November 14, 2014. He was born on August 15, 1941 in Washington, DC. Raymond was a graduate of Chamberlain High School class of 1960 and attended the charter class of USF, graduating in 1965. In June 1965, Raymond was proud to enter service in the US Army then later in the Army Reserves. During his military career he attended OCS in Fort Sill, was Commander of Company E 5th Battalion and US Army Infantry Training Center at Fort Benning, served in the Vietnam War 1969 and 1970, and was stationed in Washington DC before ending his career at MacDill. He achieved the rank of Captain. After his service, Raymond began his life-long career in wholesale produce as the owner of the Dimond Tager Company and an owner of the Tampa Wholesale Produce Market in Tampa. Raymond loved to golf and had golfed since the Pee Wee league at Palma Ceia. He was a member of the Buckhorn Springs Golf and Country Club since 1985, and also the Army and Navy Country Club in Arlington, Virginia. Raymond lived life to the fullest; his sense of humor and laugh are legendary. Raymond is survived by his wife Fran Charlton, with whom he shared his life for almost 20 years, his mother Ella Mae (Thacker) Charlton of Brooksville, daughter Christine (Don) Childress of Valrico, son Raymond (Kerri) Charlton of Palm City Florida, sister Connie (Ron Lutes) Charlton of Brooksville, and grandchildren Margi, Laurie, Alex, and Connor. A Celebration of Life will take place at Buckhorn Springs Golf and Country Club on Sunday, November 23 from 3:00 - 5:00.
