Obituary

Damon, Ralph Michael

left us physically on October 7, 2010 at the age of 86. He was born in Oak Bay, New Brunswick, Canada on August 14, 1924 to Dorothy and Charles Damon; one of seven children. Ralph served his country in the Pacific Theater during WWII in Guam and GuadalCanal. Upon return, he and his family left Lubec, Maine in 1950. He became a Lithographer at the newly opened American Can Company. Ralph took great pride in the intricacy of his work and spent a six month period training Lithographers in Caracas, Venezuela. He worked diligently until the demise of the plant in Tampa and cared deeply for his fellow workers. A new career with the School Board of Hillsborough County spanned ten years and made him a favorite custodian at Seffner Elementary. He is survived by his loving wife of 61 years, Lois E. Damon, daughters Carole D. Zale and Tammy D. Stringer (Danny). Ralph has a sole surviving sister, Alice Newman of Brewer, Maine and many nieces and nephews. Grandchildren Lisa A. Hoffower (Robert) and family, Alan J. Zale, Jr. (Shelly) and family, Kayla D. Stringer. Great Grandchildren Bailey J. Zale and Ariana E. Hoffower. All of the best characteristics in each one of us were learned from him as husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather. Cremation will take place at SerenityMeadowsMemorial Park. There will be no services per his request. Condolences may be given to the family at www.serenitymeadows.com
