Raleigh E. "Roy" Shifflet Sr. 95 of Valrico FL, former resident of Williamsport, PA passed peacefully at the Hospice House in Sun City, FL on Saturday October 1, 2016. He was born May 29, 1921 in Mt. Jackson, VA, the son of the late Joseph Walter and Annie May Martin Shifflett. He was also preceded in death by his first wife of 54 years, Christine Rose Lepore Shifflet; second wife of 21 years, Doris Helminiak Shifflet; son, Roy Shifflet Jr.; triplet daughter, Jill Andrea Lusk; great granddaughter, Andrea Lynn Hill; two brothers, Charles and Max Shifflet; and a sister, Mary Kathryn Wright. Roy retired from the former Valley Farms, also worked at Baltimore Life Insurance Co. and many other jobs to support his family. He was a Navy Veteran of WW II and a member of the Masons; who was a kind, loving, warm-hearted soul who brought much joy, fun & cherished memories to his family. With all the jobs he still took the time to enjoy sports, including baseball and softball which he played and coached his sons and daughters Little League teams. He instilled values of commitment, respect, work ethic, honesty, and had many family gatherings full of love. Roy is survived by his son, Joseph Walter (Noreen) Shifflet of Williamsville, NY; twin daughters, Patricia Ann (Fred) Maeulen of Williamsport, PA, and Barbara Ann (Larry) Strumsky of Silverspring, MD; triplet daughters, Jodi Andrea Gerber (Dan) Fitch of Fredrick, MD., and Gerilyn Andrea (John) Kauderman of Valrico FL; daughter in law, Carol Hart Shifflet of Mifflinburg, PA; brothers, James William (Vera) of Cogan Station, PA, and Robert Edward (Patricia) of Emporia, KS; 16 grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. A Memorial Service in his honor will be celebrated at a later date.
