Piroska Kovacs, 86, of Riverview, Florida passed away on February 5, 2021 in Jacksonville Florida where she had been staying the past few months. Piroska was born to Geza and Maria Koczan in Budapest, Hungary in 1934. She came to the United States in 1956 with her husband Dr. Tibor V. Kovacs, settling in the Cleveland, Ohio area. Later they moved to the Tampa, Florida area, where they lived for many years, ending up in Riverview.

Piroska was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister and aunt. As the wife of a busy obstetrician, she spent her whole life taking care of her family and friends. She was a fantastic cook and baker, enjoyed making delicious Hungarian dishes and pastries. Piroska was very creative and made beautiful jewelry which was treasured by the recipients. She enjoyed spending time in Madeira Beach, where she and Tibor had many friends, and where she found pleasure in the beauty of the Gulf of Mexico and the beautiful scenery and sunsets. Her joy in life was spending time with her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Predeceased by her husband of 63 years, Dr. Tibor V. Kovacs, Piroska is survived by her children, Tibor G. (Dottie) Kovacs, Peter (Timea) Kovacs, and Andrea (Shawn) Kennedy; grandchildren Jeffrey (Whitney) Kovacs, David (Meagan) Kovacs, Andrew (fiancee Devon Dan), Matthew Kovacs, Kristina Kennedy and Kayla Kennedy; great grandchildren Kendall, Jason, Owen and Dean; sister Katalin Fister; niece Orsolya (Csaba) Balint.
