Obituary

Phillip Addison Crawford, passed away on April 10, 2018 surrounded by his loving family. Phil was born on April 2, 1963 in Orlando, FL. He was a devoted and loving husband, father and brother. He is survived by his beloved wife, Cheryl (nee Songer) and their son, Tristan of Brandon, FL. He is also survived by his eldest son, Cody Crawford of Tampa, FL.

Phillip was preceded in death by his mother, Leslie D. Caldwell, he is survived by his sisters, Jennie Nelson of Naples, FL and Kelly Litell of Clearwater, FL. Also, his maternal Aunt Donna (Bobby) Priddy of Orlando, FL and many cousins.

Other survivors include his best friend, Alan and his wife Renee Tichy of Ruskin, FL, special friends Alice and John Gallagher of St Pete, FL. Father and mother-in-law, Lanny and Gale Songer of Brandon, FL and brother and sister-in-law, Sean and Helen Songer of Seffner, FL. Surviving nieces and nephews include Blaine, Bryan, Emily, Logan and Richey.

Upon graduating from East Bay high school, Phil proudly served in the US Navy for 3 years. Phil then dedicated an impressive 32 years at Kings Point Community in Sun City Center, FL as their Maintenance Director. He loved to fish and he was an avid golfer. He had a soft spot for all animals and generously cared for several rescued pets. He was especially fond of the family's Mini Pin, Penny.

Phillip fought a courageous battle against cancer. He never complained and never asked "why me?". He was brave to the very end. He was a sweet man with an uncanny sense of humor.

It rained so hard the day you passed, the angels must have been crying.

Appreciation to Dr. Spain and Dr. Iacovella for their compassion and the wonderful ICU staff at Brandon Regional Hospital.

Serenity Meadows Funeral Home in Riverview, FL is handling the arrangements. A Celebration of Life Service will be held at the Marriott Hotel Waterside in Tampa, FL on Saturday, June 2, 2018
